¶“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male slave or his female slave or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

So are the paths of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its possessors.

Do not look on the wine when it glistens red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it goes down smoothly;

A man with an evil eye hurries after wealth And does not know that want will come upon him.

Guard your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.

Because you have said, “We have cut a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The overflowing scourge will not reach us when it passes by, For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have hidden ourselves with lying.”

¶Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from Yahweh, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say, “Who sees us?” or “Who knows us?”

¶“Woe to him who is greedy for evil gain for his house To put his nest on high, To be delivered from the hand of evil!

Then He said to them, “Watch out and be on your guard against every form of greed, for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”

But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

But sexual immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints;

For this you know with certainty, that no one sexually immoral or impure or greedy, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

The graven images of their gods you are to burn with fire; you shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be snared by it, for it is an abomination to Yahweh your God.

Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

Make sure that your way of life is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”

Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully matured, it brings forth death.

So Achan answered Joshua and said, “Truly, I have sinned against Yahweh, the God of Israel, and this is what I did:

So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and behold, it was concealed in his tent with the silver underneath it.

Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,
