And it went out from Bethel to Luz and passed on to the border of the Archites at Ataroth.

And he called the name of that place Bethel; however, previously the name of the city had been Luz.

Then it happened that as David was coming to the summit, where he used to worship God, that behold, Hushai the Archite met him with his coat torn and dust on his head.

So Hushai, David’s friend, came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

And it happened that when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, came to Absalom, that Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”

Ahithophel was counselor to the king; and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.

Now their possessions and settlements were Bethel with its towns, and to the east Naaran, and to the west Gezer with its towns, and Shechem with its towns as far as Ayyah with its towns,

From there the border passed on to Luz, to the side of Luz (that is, Bethel) southward; and the border went down to Ataroth-addar, near the hill which lies on the south of lower Beth-horon.
