Now this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon raised up to build the house of Yahweh, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

But the sons of Manasseh could not take possession of these cities because the Canaanites persisted in living in that land.

Now it happened that when the sons of Israel became strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but they did not dispossess them completely.

Also Ephraim did not dispossess the Canaanites who were living in Gezer; so the Canaanites lived in Gezer among them.
