Therefore when Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High, For you will go on before the Lord to make ready His ways,
And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ ”
And they said, “The Lord has need of it.”
For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
And when the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her and said to her, “Do not cry.”
Summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are You the One who is to come, or should we look for someone else?”
After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He was spending time with them and baptizing.
And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have borne witness, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.”
As for the word which He sent to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all—
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to proclaim the gospel, not in wisdom of word, so that the cross of Christ will not be made empty.
The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.
which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
For we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus.
My brothers, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.
And He has on His garment and on His thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND Lord OF LORDS.”
