John 13:1

Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour had come that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

Then He *came to the disciples and *said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch out your hands against Me, but this hour and the authority of darkness are yours.”

Now it happened that when the days for Him to be taken up were soon to be fulfilled, He set His face to go to Jerusalem;

Now the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up to Jerusalem from the region before the Passover to purify themselves.

And Jesus *answered them, saying, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

For some were thinking, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy the things we have need of for the feast”; or else, that he should give something to the poor.

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God,

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.

I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.”

Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

So Jesus, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and *said to them, “Whom do you seek?”

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been finished, in order to finish the Scripture, *said, “I am thirsty.”

And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.

So they were seeking to seize Him; yet no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

So Jesus *said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always here.

These words He spoke in the treasury, as He was teaching in the temple; and no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

who will also confirm you to the end, beyond reproach in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end,

but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house—whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope.

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,

Therefore, having girded your minds for action, being sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

We love, because He first loved us.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood—
