Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.

Then he will entreat God, and He will accept him, And he will see His face with joyful shouts, And He may restore His righteousness to man.

They drank the wine and praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.

“Come, let us return to Yahweh. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has struck us, but He will bandage us.

and he said, “I called out of my distress to Yahweh, And He answered me. I cried for help from the belly of Sheol; You heard my voice.

“While my soul was fainting within me, I remembered Yahweh, And my prayer came to You, To Your holy temple.

Though all the peoples walk Each in the name of his god, As for us, we will walk In the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.

And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

And being in agony He was praying very fervently, and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.

And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”

What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also.

What is the outcome then, brothers? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has a translation. Let all things be done for edification.

speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;

He, in the days of His flesh, offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

As an example, brothers, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

And they *sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been purchased from the earth.

and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
