Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

“Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my lifetime as nothing before You; Surely every man, even standing firm, is altogether vanity. Selah.

Thus He remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that goes and does not return.

Remember what my span of life is; For what vanity You have created all the sons of men!

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

“Like a shepherd’s tent my dwelling is pulled up and removed from me; As a weaver I rolled up my life. He cuts me off from the loom; From day until night You make an end of me.

and the rich man is to boast in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.

For, “All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off,

The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be of sound thinking and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

And the world is passing away, and also its lusts, but the one who does the will of God abides forever.
