Then Yahweh saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Now the men of Sodom were evil and sinners, exceedingly so, against Yahweh.

And Yahweh smelled the soothing aroma; and Yahweh said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.

How much less one who is abominable and corrupt, Man, who drinks unrighteousness like water!

“Will you keep to the ancient path Which wicked men have trod,

God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who has insight, Anyone who seeks after God.

A heart that devises wicked thoughts, Feet that hasten to run to evil,

See, I have found only this, that God made men upright, but they have sought out many devices.”

This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for all. Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterwards they go to the dead.

¶“The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can know it?

¶Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem, That you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts Lodge within you?

Then He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each man in the room of his carved images? For they say, ‘Yahweh does not see us; Yahweh has forsaken the land.’ ”

And He said to me, “Go in and see the evil abominations that they are doing here.”

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false witness, slanders.

For just as the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

And just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

And it will be when he hears the words of this curse, that he will bless himself in his heart, saying, ‘I have peace though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart in order to sweep away the watered land with the dry.’

For we ourselves also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, despicable, hating one another.

who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.
