A fruitful land into a salt waste, Because of the evil of those who inhabited it.

Let his sons wander aimlessly and beg; And let them search for food from their ruined homes.

A man oppressed with the bloodguilt of life Will flee until death; let no one uphold him.

My God will despise them Because they have not listened to Him; And they will be those who flee among the nations.

The field is destroyed; The land mourns, For the grain is destroyed, The new wine dries up, Fresh oil fails.

And I will set My face against you so that you will be defeated before your enemies; and those who hate you will have dominion over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you.

And your power will be spent uselessly, for your land will not give forth its produce and the trees of the land will not give forth their fruit.

As for those of you who may remain, I will also bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will pursue them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall.

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope

“But it will be, if you do not listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, to keep and to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I am commanding you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
