After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field at Machpelah facing Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

So the field and the cave that is in it were deeded over to Abraham for a possession for a burial site by the sons of Heth.

“For I know that You will bring me to death And to the house of meeting for all living.

Furthermore, men are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blooms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and the caperberry is ineffective. For man goes to his eternal home, but the mourners go about in the street.

then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

If a man becomes the father of one hundred children and lives many years, however many the days of his years may be, but his soul is not satisfied with good things, and he does not even have a proper burial, then I say, “Better the miscarriage than he,
