Now it happened after these things, that God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

After these things the word of Yahweh came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.”

And the matter distressed Abraham greatly because of his son.

But the angel of Yahweh called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Then Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

And Israel said to Joseph, “Are not your brothers pasturing the flock in Shechem? Come, and I will send you to them.” And he said to him, “I will go.”

And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.”

And again the anger of Yahweh burned against Israel, and it incited David against them to say, “Go, number Israel and Judah.”

Even in the matter of the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the miraculous sign that had happened in the land, God left him alone only to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Yahweh tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My law.

And Yahweh saw that he turned aside to look, so God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But Yahweh tests hearts.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you to find out if you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end,

And you shall remember all the way which Yahweh your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was offering up his only son,

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?

so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

in order to test Israel by them, whether they will keep the way of Yahweh to walk in it as their fathers did, or not.”

that Yahweh called Samuel; and he said, “Here I am.”
