But better off than both of them is the one who never has been, who has never seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
Who are glad with joy, And rejoice when they find the grave?
I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind.
So I hated life, for the work which had been done under the sun was grievous to me; because everything is vanity and striving after wind.
But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’
