Then the days for Israel to die drew near, and he called his son Joseph and said to him, “Please, if I have found favor in your sight, place now your hand under my thigh and deal with me in lovingkindness and truth. Please do not bury me in Egypt.

And he cried against the altar by the word of Yahweh, and said, “O altar, altar, thus says Yahweh, ‘Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah is his name; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and human bones shall be burned on you.’ ”

Then he said, “At this season next year you will embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, O man of God, do not lie to your servant-woman.”

“If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my labor I will wait Until my change comes.

“Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.

“Is not man conscripted to labor on earth, And are not his days like the days of a hired man?

He makes the barren woman of the house sit As a glad mother of children. Praise Yah!

¶But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, And uproot you from the land of the living, Selah.

¶Establish your work outside And make it ready for yourself in the field; And afterwards, you shall build your house.

Does the farmer plow continually to plant seed? Does he continually turn and harrow his ground?

In those days Hezekiah became ill to the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ ”

“Go and say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.

“Shout for joy, O barren woman, who has not given birth; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor; For more numerous are the sons of the desolate one Than the sons of the married woman,” says Yahweh.

“See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, To uproot and to tear down, To cause to perish and to pull down, To build and to plant.”

Thus you are to say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Behold, what I have built I am about to pull down, and what I have planted I am about to uproot, that is, the whole land.”

The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,

But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.

But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will call his name John.

And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”

And behold, your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren.

Whenever a woman is in labor she has sorrow, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.

So they were seeking to seize Him; yet no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

“But as the time of the promise was drawing near which God had assured to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,

It was at this time that Moses was born, and he was lovely in the sight of God, and he was nurtured three months in his father’s home.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,

So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to the command of Yahweh.

And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

“Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, But those who were hungry cease to hunger. Even the barren gives birth to seven, But she who has many children languishes.
