If a malicious witness rises up against a man to accuse him of wrongdoing,

Do not give me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence.

Malicious witnesses rise up, Who ask me of things that I do not know.

And they put forward false witnesses who said, “This man never ceases speaking words against this holy place and the Law;

A faithful witness will not lie, But a false witness breathes out lies.

A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who breathes out lies will not escape.

¶‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
