And this is just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests, but also when they were being put to death I cast my vote against them.

As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.

And when they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the witnesses laid aside their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Now Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him to death. And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

But Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house, and dragging off men and women, he was delivering them into prison.

And all those hearing him continued to be astounded, and were saying, “Is this not the one who in Jerusalem destroyed those that called on this name, and who had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?”

And when he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

Now it happened that as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.

And he gave her his hand and raised her up. And calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

For I am the least of the apostles, and not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it.

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus:

Then I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered greatly.
