Indeed, He will speak to this people Through stammering lips and a foreign tongue,

“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says Yahweh: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your seed, nor from the mouth of your seed’s seed,” says Yahweh, “from now and forever.”

But I am full of the wrath of Yahweh; I am weary of holding it in. “Pour it out on the infants in the street And on the gathering of choice men together; For both husband and wife shall be captured, The aged with the one full of days.

And go now, come to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and you shall speak to them and say to them, whether they listen or whether they refuse, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh.’ ”

On the other hand I am filled with power— With the Spirit of Yahweh— And with justice and might To declare to Jacob his transgression, Even to Israel his sin.

But when they deliver you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given to you in that hour what you are to say.

And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will not drink any wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb.

And it happened that when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a considerable crowd was brought to the Lord.

And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

But Saul, who was also known as Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him,

And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.

Cretans and Arabs—we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God.”

And there appeared to them tongues like fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.

And when they had prayed earnestly, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with confidence.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people,

Therefore, brothers, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this need.

And this word pleased the whole congregation, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch.

And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.

But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;

Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.

So Ananias departed and entered the house. And he laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord sent me—that is Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming—so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

and to another the workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to someone else various kinds of tongues, and to another the translation of tongues.

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

Love never fails, but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

I thank God that I speak in tongues more than you all;

But I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. And greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he translates, so that the church may receive edification.

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

praying at all times with all prayer and petition in the Spirit, and to this end, being on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been declared to you through those who proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.

For no prophecy was ever made by the will of man, but men being moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Then Eli said to her, “How long will you make yourself drunk? Put away your wine from you.”

And they came to the hill there, and behold, a group of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him mightily, so that he prophesied among them.
