There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God, and turning away from evil.

How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, They seek Him with all their heart.

Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; In You I hope all the day.

How blessed is he who considers the poor; Yahweh will provide him escape in a day of calamity.

Evening and morning and at noon, I will bring my complaint and moan, And He will hear my voice.

Be gracious to me, O Lord, For to You I call all day long.

O Yahweh, the God of my salvation, I have cried out by day and throughout the night before You.

It is good that you seize one thing and also not let go of the other; for the one who fears God comes forth with both of them.

So they will fear the name of Yahweh from the west And His glory from the rising of the sun, For He will come like a rushing stream Which the wind of Yahweh makes flee.

Now when Daniel knew that the written document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.

Then the king said the word, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions’ den. The king answered and said to Daniel, “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself save you.”

When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king answered and said to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to save you from the lions?”

I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom, men are to fear and be in dread before the God of Daniel; For He is the living God and enduring forever, And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, And His dominion will be unto the end.

In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more.

Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the comfort of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and hear a message from you.”

and he *said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God.

but in every nation the one who fears Him and does righteousness is welcome to Him.

And looking intently on him and becoming afraid, he said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God.

And when the angel who was speaking to him had left, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier of those who were his personal attendants,

and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’

So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:

“Brothers, sons of Abraham’s family, and those among you who fear God, to us the word of this salvation was sent.

But the Jews incited the God-fearing women of prominence and the leading men of the city, and instigated a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.

And Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his household, and many of the Corinthians when they heard were believing and being baptized.

Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.

“Now a certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there,

And some devout men buried Stephen and made loud lamentation over him.

And the Lord said to him, “Rise up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,

So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria was having peace, being built up. And going on in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it continued to multiply.

Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated is called Dorcas). This woman was full of good works and charity which she continually did.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving;

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

If it is evil in your sight to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.”

“Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For all the nations will come and worship before You, For Your righteous acts have been revealed.”
