Now David called him, and he ate and drank before him, and he made him drunk; and in the evening he went out to lie on his bed with his lord’s servants, but he did not go down to his house.
But Uriah lay down at the door of the king’s house with all the servants of his lord, and did not go down to his house.
Then Absalom said, “If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us.” And the king said to him, “Why should he go with you?”
Then Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you, that you have brought such great sin upon them?”
Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.
¶Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes?
¶“Woe to you who make your neighbors drink, Who mix in your venom even to make them drunk So as to look on their nakedness!
