Simeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received the same kind of faith as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

Simeon has related how God first concerned Himself about taking from among the Gentiles a people for His name.

Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, having been set apart for the gospel of God,

that is, to be mutually encouraged, while among you, by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous will live by faith.”

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

For I am the least of the apostles, and not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?

But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak,

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

(for He who worked in Peter unto his apostleship to the circumcised worked in me also unto the Gentiles),

which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it was now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit:

And He Himself gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,

one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as exiles, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen

so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief corner stone,”

Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed,

For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
