And Elisha was seeing this and he was crying out, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” And he saw Elijah no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.

So Jacob tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his loins and mourned for his son many days.

Now Elisha became sick with the illness of which he was to die. So Joash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over him and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

He also took up the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and returned and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

Then his servants approached and spoke to him and said, “My father, had the prophet spoken with you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

Then the king of Israel when he saw them, said to Elisha, “My father, shall I strike them down? Shall I strike them down?”

“He will provide escape for one who is not innocent, And he will escape through the cleanness of your hands.”

By the blessing of the upright a city is raised up, But by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down.

Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name? And what is His Son’s name? Surely you know!

Wisdom strengthens a wise man more than ten men with power who are in a city.

And Hezekiah prayed to Yahweh saying,

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

Perhaps Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore, lift up a prayer for the remnant that is left.’ ”

So then, the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

And it happened that when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.”

And it happened that while He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

And no one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.’

And some devout men buried Stephen and made loud lamentation over him.

For indeed in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,

For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.

Therefore it says, “When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, And He gave gifts to men.”

And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Micah then said to him, “Remain with me and be a father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year, a suit of clothes, and your sustenance.” So the Levite went in.
