And as any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the service of the brothers living in Judea.

And when Paul and Barnabas had not a little dissension and debate with them, the brothers determined that Paul and Barnabas and some others of them should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders concerning this issue.

And Barnabas wanted to take John, called Mark, along with them also.

For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

What do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?

For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present:

But I call God as witness to my soul, that to spare you I did not come again to Corinth.

For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present I need not use severity, in accordance with the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have abundantly for you.

When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
