1 Samuel 26:19

So now, please let my lord the king listen to the words of his servant. If Yahweh has incited you up against me, let Him accept an offering; but if it is men, cursed are they before Yahweh, for they have driven me out today so that I would have no attachment with the inheritance of Yahweh, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods.’

Then Judah came near to him and said, “O my lord, may your servant please speak a word in my lord’s ears, and do not be angry with your servant; for you are equal to Pharaoh.

And Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’ And he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ Then He said, ‘You shall entice him and also prevail. Go out and do so.’

Then Satan stood up against Israel and incited David to number Israel.

¶Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, For I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

¶May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill all your counsel!

¶Do not slander a slave to his master, Lest he curse you and you be found guilty.

“Then you will see and be radiant, And your heart will tremble and be large with joy; Because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, The wealth of the nations will come to you.

And I will give your cities over as a waste and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your soothing aromas.

Thus no inheritance of the sons of Israel shall be transferred from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel shall each hold to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

Thus no inheritance shall be transferred from one tribe to another tribe, for the tribes of the sons of Israel shall each hold to his own inheritance.”

For if because of food your brother is grieved, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.

I wish that those who are upsetting you would even mutilate themselves.

you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you to find out if you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Saul then will despair of searching for me anymore in all the territory of Israel, and I will escape from his hand.”
