How blessed are your men, how blessed are these your servants who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom.

“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Blessed are you when men hate you, and exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.

But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

And they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

They answered and said to him, “You were born entirely in sins, and are you teaching us?” So they put him out.

But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, blaspheming.

But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

But we desire to hear from you what you think; for concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.”

So they went on their way from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for the Name.

Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions and hardships, for the sake of Christ, for when I am weak, then I am strong.

But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their fear, and do not be troubled,

having a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.

but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be put to shame, but is to glorify God in this name.

And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned.
