How blessed is the man whose iniquity Yahweh will not take into account, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!

Guard your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.

Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward doers of unrighteousness.

For I was envious of the boastful, I saw the peace of the wicked.

A tranquil heart is life to the body, But jealousy is rottenness to the bones.

Do not be jealous of evil men, And do not desire to be with them;

You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:

In this way, you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Shall we pay or shall we not pay?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why are you testing Me? Bring Me a denarius to look at.”

Woe to you! For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it.”

At this time, after so many thousands of the crowd had gathered together that they were trampling on one another, He began saying to His disciples first, “Be on your guard for the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said about him, “Behold, truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!”

having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,

Brothers, do not be children in your thinking; rather in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances.

Let all bitterness and anger and wrath and shouting and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit;

Women must likewise be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, laying aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Therefore, laying aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in gentleness receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.

Do not slander one another, brothers. He who slanders a brother or judges his brother, slanders the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.

Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”?

Do not groan, brothers, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged. Behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.

Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as slaves of God.

who did no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth;

For, “The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

so as to no longer live the rest of the time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, maligning you,

And no lie was found in their mouth; they are blameless.
