For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

And he wrote a letter after this manner:

not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
