If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be her's that was hated:

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
