For now thou numberest my steps: Dost thou not watch over my sin?

They have gaped upon me with their mouth; They have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; They have gathered themselves together against me.

Doth not he see my ways, And count all my steps?

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; Continually are they gathered together for war.

The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him.

They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down: They have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
