Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: He that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: This shall be the portion of their cup.

know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
