The soul of the wicked desireth evil: His neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Devise not evil against thy neighbour, Seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

The wicked desireth the net of evil men: But the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; His righteousness endureth for ever; His horn shall be exalted with honour.

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: He will guide his affairs with discretion.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; He setteth himself in a way that is not good; He abhorreth not evil.

Who rejoice to do evil, And delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: But he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, Than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
