The simple believeth every word: But the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: But the folly of fools is deceit.

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; But the simple pass on, and are punished.

Ponder the path of thy feet, And let all thy ways be established.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; And a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?

And Bath-sheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.

Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.
