It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
