Leviticus 16:21

and Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me.

And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock.

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:

and the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
