He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, And as a lion in secret places.
Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: From day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: He lieth in wait to catch the poor: He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: And again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.
Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, He hath made my paths crooked.
He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: He hath made me desolate.
