And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, And take away mine iniquity? For now shall I sleep in the dust; And thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

If I sin, then thou markest me, And thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

Who is he that will plead with me? For now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.

The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: He openeth his eyes, and he is not.

I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

But man dieth, and wasteth away: Yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: Yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
