Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; For we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

Will he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call upon God?

For I know not to give flattering titles; In so doing my Maker would soon take me away.

But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: They cry not when he bindeth them.

I will fetch my knowledge from afar, And will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker?

Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, And thy lips with rejoicing.

At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee Because of thy righteous judgments.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: Let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: And my spirit made diligent search.

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

and forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
