For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living.

in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

Thine hands have made me and fashioned me Together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.

Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, Thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, And every man shall draw after him, As there are innumerable before him.

The small and great are there; And the servant is free from his master.

This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.

There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
