If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, And the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: Cut them off in thy truth.

thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.

Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,

What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Is not this laid up in store with me, And sealed up among my treasures?

If I whet my glittering sword, And mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, And will reward them that hate me.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
