This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: For I should have denied the God that is above.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, And have not wickedly departed from my God.

Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, And they lied unto him with their tongues.

Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? Or lest I be poor, and steal, And take the name of my God in vain.

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;

Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
