Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.

Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

Mine eyes do fail with tears, My bowels are troubled, My liver is poured upon the earth, For the destruction of the daughter of my people; Because the children and the sucklings swoon In the streets of the city.
