Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.

They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

The LORD is righteous; For I have rebelled against his commandment: Hear, I pray you, all people, And behold my sorrow: My virgins and my young men Are gone into captivity.

Her adversaries are the chief, Her enemies prosper; For the LORD hath afflicted her For the multitude of her transgressions: Her children are gone Into captivity before the enemy.

And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.

Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
