Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

and said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
