Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.
that drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:
And the king said, What honor and dignity hath been done to Mor´decai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
