Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the Lord, and returned to depart, according to the word of the Lord.
And when Rehobo´am was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehobo´am the son of Solomon.
Now the acts of Rehobo´am, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemai´ah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehobo´am and Jerobo´am continually.
Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.
And the rest of the acts of Jerobo´am, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
