And Na-o´mi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elim´elech; and his name was Boaz.

And Men´ahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.

And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley tonight in the threshingfloor.

and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
