And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephun´neh.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

the sons of Le´ah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Is´sachar, and Zeb´ulun:

Gil´e-ad is mine, and Manas´seh is mine; E´phra-im also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

And these were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammu´a the son of Zaccur.

Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephun´neh.

but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephun´neh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephun´neh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.

And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephun´neh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephun´neh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.

save Caleb the son of Jephun´neh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the Lord.

And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou a help to him from his enemies.
