He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
for it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou showest thyself marvelous upon me.
He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.
For I will be unto E´phra-im as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
