Then all the Mid´i-anites and the Amal´ekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount E´phra-im, saying, Come down against the Mid´i-anites, and take before them the waters unto Beth–ba´rah and Jordan. Then all the men of E´phra-im gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Beth–ba´rah and Jordan.
So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Mid´i-an was beneath him in the valley.
