And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ish´maelites came from Gil´e-ad, with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.
And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Ja´ir, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gil´e-ad.
and Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the Lord, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gil´e-ad for a possession:
and to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Per´izzite, and the Jeb´usite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gil´e-ad. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
