on the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.
but he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
How long, Lord? Wilt thou hide thyself for ever? Shall thy wrath burn like fire?
Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
