Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.

Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

Are the consolations of God small with thee? Is there any secret thing with thee?

I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.

How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? Mark, and afterward we will speak.

But Job answered and said,

Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.

Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.

Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Ger´izim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.
